I am the founder of the Head2Head Charity. The Head2Head Charity started life as the Head2Head Walk, which is a fundraiser I dreamt up back in 2012. This is a 125km walk around the Manukau Harbour, with teams of five completing five legs of 25km. The funds raised from the walk go towards implementing life changing projects into low decile schools around Auckland. To date we have raised over $20,000 (in two years), which has been used to implement amazing sustainable social projects into low/mid decile schools around Auckland i.e. the planting of one hundred fruit trees at Glen Innes School. As the event grows, we are looking to bring on supporters who understand what we're trying to achieve and want to help us to reach the ambitious goals we've set. This year we have set a fundraising target of $50,000 and we already have two amazing projects identified which will be funded by this years Hubbards Head2Head Walk (Hubbards are our principle sponsor, providing marketing, PR and branding support); 1, Papatoetoe West School; Growing A Future The Papatoetoe West School project is in partnership with Garden to Table to introduce sustainable gardens. We'll not only fund the introduction fee for Garden to Table, but the Head2Head Team will work closely with the school to make the gardens sustainable and work towards future projects. 2, Awhitu District School; Getting Back to Nature. The Awhitu School project is the first solely supported Head2Head project, without assistance from other non-profits, which makes it very exciting and another key milestone for the Head2Head Charity. The aim of this project is to help them build a brand new bush trail which the kids will use as part of their curricular activities. With both of the above projects, we'll be working closely with the schools to help the kids come up with project plans, understand how the projects cost etc. I think what we're doing is really going to make a difference
